I still get pimples now and then, even more than when I was a teen. Hormones, stress, and diet are key factors in breakouts. Managing these areas can help reduce acne, but if you get an occasional pimple, this acne spray can help without using chemicals.
Ingredients:
– 1 green tea bag
– 3 sprigs of fresh peppermint (or a peppermint tea bag)
– 3 drops of tea tree oil
– 1 cup of boiling water
– Tea kettle
– Ceramic cup
– Spray bottle
Notes about the Ingredients:
Green tea has been used in the Far East for centuries for its medicinal properties. It’s rich in antioxidants, enzymes, amino acids, B vitamins, folate, manganese, potassium, magnesium, and caffeine. Green tea helps improve skin complexion, reduces inflammation, flushes out toxins, heals blemishes and scars, and enhances skin elasticity.
Peppermint, known for soothing upset stomachs, also helps combat pimples by controlling excess oil secretion and preventing clogged pores. It brightens your skin and gives a fresh, tingling sensation.
Tea tree oil has strong healing properties. It is antiviral and antifungal, used to treat ringworm, dandruff, cuts, scrapes, and acne. However, it’s potent, so use it sparingly to avoid drying out your skin.
Instructions:
1. Steep the Tea: Bring a cup of water to a boil. Add the green tea bag and fresh peppermint leaves to the tea pot. Let it brew for 5 minutes.
2. Strain and Cool: Once brewed, strain the tea and let it cool completely.
3. Add Tea Tree Oil: Add three drops of tea tree oil to the cooled tea. Be cautious, as tea tree oil is strong.
How to Use:
Pour the tea into a spray bottle or mister for easy application on your face and other body parts. Alternatively, you can use a glass bottle and apply it with a cotton ball. Cleanse the affected area with a gentle, natural soap, then apply the Green Tea and Peppermint Spray. Let your skin air dry and follow with a light, oil-free moisturizer. Use daily as needed.
