Not getting enough sleep, dealing with allergies, and stress can make your eyes look tired. The skin around your eyes is delicate and needs nightly care. Most store-bought eye creams are packed with fillers and often don’t deliver the results you want. Instead of spending a lot on these creams, you can make your own with a few simple ingredients.
What You’ll Need:
– Organic coconut oil
– Vitamin E tablets
– Frankincense essential oil
Why These Ingredients Work:
Coconut oil is an excellent base for this eye cream. It’s mostly hypoallergenic (you can use olive oil or grape seed oil if you have a nut allergy) and very moisturizing, penetrating the skin better than many other oils. There are many reasons to use coconut oil on your skin and face.
Vitamin E is rich in antioxidants. It promotes healthy skin growth, repairs damage, keeps skin smooth, and prevents cracking. It also helps delay premature aging and wrinkling.
Frankincense oil has been used for centuries for its health benefits. It supports healthy cell regeneration and keeps existing cells and tissues healthy. It can treat dry skin, reduce signs of aging, and diminish the appearance of stretch marks and scars.
How to Make Your Own Eye Cream:
1. Put one tablespoon of coconut oil in a glass bowl and mix it to loosen and warm the oil.
2. Pop two vitamin E capsules and squeeze the contents into the coconut oil.
3. Add two to three drops of frankincense oil to the mixture.
4. Mix everything thoroughly and transfer it to a small container with a lid. You can refrigerate the mixture to make it firm.
At night, dab a small amount of the eye cream under your eyes to allow the oils to penetrate your skin overnight. You can also use it in the morning, but let it soak in for at least 10 minutes before applying makeup. This eye cream can also serve as a gentle, moisturizing makeup remover. Enjoy!
