Crafting Your Own Natural “Wet” Dry Shampoo Spray at Home

Most people don’t need to wash their hair every day. In fact, using harsh commercial shampoos daily can strip your hair of its natural oils, making it drier and more prone to breakage. Your hair produces natural oils that help keep your scalp and hair moisturized. Instead of washing your hair daily, consider using a dry shampoo.

Why Dry Shampoo?
Dry shampoo works by putting an oil-absorbing substance, like arrowroot, on the oily parts of your hair to soak up the excess oil. It’s a great solution if you don’t have time to wash your hair. Dry shampoos are also useful for styling, especially for fine hair that doesn’t hold styles well without products like hairsprays and gels. You can use arrowroot or cornstarch on its own, applying it with a makeup brush, then combing it through and styling as usual. A wet/dry shampoo works similarly but is easier to apply, less messy, and simple to make.

Ingredients:
– 1 cup warm water
– 1/4 cup arrowroot
– 1/4 cup witch hazel
– Essential oil (optional, for fragrance)
– Spray bottle

Instructions:
1. Add the arrowroot powder to the warm water and stir until fully dissolved, making sure there are no clumps.
2. Add the witch hazel to the mixture, which helps it dry faster once applied to your hair.
3. Optionally, add a few drops of essential oil for fragrance or to address specific hair issues. For example, rosemary can stimulate hair growth, tea tree oil can help with dandruff, and lemon oil can help with an oily scalp.
4. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle for easy application.

How to Use Wet/Dry Shampoo:
Shake the spray bottle before each use. Spray on the roots or oily parts of your hair, let it dry, and style as usual.
