Craft Your Own Green Tea & Peppermint Pimple Solution at Home

I still occasionally get pimples, and it seems like I have more breakouts now than I did as a teenager. Hormones, stress, and diet significantly contribute to these breakouts. By managing these factors, you can reduce the frequency of pimples. However, for those occasional unsightly pimples, this homemade acne spray can help clear them up without any chemicals.

Ingredients:
– 1 green tea bag
– 3 sprigs of fresh peppermint or a peppermint tea bag
– 3 drops of tea tree oil
– 1 cup of boiling water
– Tea kettle
– Ceramic cup
– Spray bottle

Notes on Ingredients:

Green tea has been used for centuries in the Far East for its medicinal benefits, including treating headaches and depression. It’s packed with antioxidants, enzymes, amino acids, phytochemicals, B vitamins, folate, manganese, potassium, magnesium, and caffeine. Green tea can improve your skin complexion, thanks to its anti-inflammatory properties. It helps flush out toxins, heal blemishes and scars, and even improve skin elasticity.

Peppermint is well-known for soothing upset stomachs, but it also combats pimples. It controls the secretion of excess oil and prevents pores from clogging. Plus, it brightens your skin and leaves a fresh, tingling sensation.

Tea tree oil is renowned for its healing powers; it’s antiviral and antifungal. It treats ringworm, dandruff, cuts, scrapes, acne, and much more. Be cautious, though, as it’s potent—a little goes a long way, and using too much can dry out your skin.

Steps:

1. Steep the Tea:
– Boil a cup of water. Add the green tea bag and fresh peppermint leaves to the teapot. Let them brew for 5 minutes.

2. Strain and Cool:
– Once brewed, strain the tea and let it cool completely.

3. Add Tea Tree Oil:
– Add three drops of tea tree oil to the cooled tea. Avoid using too much as tea tree oil is quite strong.

How to Use:

– Pour the tea into a spray bottle or mister. Using a spray is the easiest way to apply it to your face and other body parts. You can also use a glass bottle and apply it with a cotton ball.
– Gently cleanse the affected area using a mild, natural soap.
– Follow with the Green Tea and Peppermint Spray. Let your skin air dry, then use a light, oil-free moisturizer.
– Use daily as needed.
