Craft Your Own Refreshing Lemon Herbal Dusting Spray

The Cleaning Power of Lemon & Vinegar

Commercial dusting sprays might smell like citrus, but they often contain a lot of chemicals. Instead of using those, try this healthier and more affordable version. This spray leverages the power of vinegar to break down grime. It includes lemon and castile soap for disinfecting and cleaning, along with lemon and orange essential oils for extra cleaning power. Sandalwood is optional, but I like it for its scent, which complements the citrus well. If you don’t have lemon thyme, you can use any lemon-scented herb like lemon balm, lemon verbena, or lemongrass. Check Asian grocery stores for these alternatives.

You’ll need to infuse the herbs in vinegar for a couple of weeks—the longer, the better. Make extra so you always have some on hand.

How to Make Lemon Fresh Herbal Dusting Spray

Ingredients:
– Fresh lemon thyme
– 1 1/2 cups of apple cider vinegar
– 1 tsp of castile soap
– Rind of one lemon
– Pure orange, lemon, and sandalwood (optional) essential oils
– Glass bottle with spray
– Glass jar

Instructions:
1. Pack the glass jar with fresh thyme and lemon zest.
2. Pour enough apple cider vinegar into the jar to cover the thyme and lemon. Cover and place in a cool, dry place for at least two weeks.
3. After two weeks, strain the mixture.
4. Add a few drops of each essential oil into the vinegar mixture.
5. Add about 1 tablespoon of castile soap and mix.
6. Pour into a spray bottle.

Now you’re ready to start dusting! This cleaner works on almost any surface. If you’re unsure, test a small hidden area first.
