Crafting a DIY Green Tea and Aloe Skin Toner for Pore Tightening and Oil Control

Taking care of your skin is crucial at any age, but as you get older, it requires a bit more attention. With so many serums, toners, and other chemical-heavy cosmetics claiming to bring back your youthful glow, it can be tough to know where to start. The great news is that it’s never too late to start a skincare routine. Plus, you can keep it simple with a toner made from natural ingredients.

This toner only has three main components: water, green tea, and aloe vera. Green tea offers numerous health benefits both inside and out. It has been used in traditional Chinese medicine to prevent and treat various skin conditions. When applied to the skin, green tea can help shield against UV damage from the sun and eliminate free radicals before they harm your skin cells’ DNA.

Packed with antioxidants, green tea will tone your skin, tighten pores, and cleanse it of toxins and impurities. Aloe vera is excellent for reducing redness and inflammation, as well as hydrating your skin. If you have particularly oily skin, you can add 1/4 cup of witch hazel to help absorb excess oil. This toner is easy to make and can help diminish some of the visible signs of aging.

Here’s what you’ll need:
– 2 Green Tea Bags
– 1 tablespoon Aloe Vera Gel (you can extract it from an aloe vera plant or purchase it)
– 1 Cup of Water

To prepare:
1. Steep the tea bags in one cup of hot water for five minutes. Let the tea cool, then remove the tea bags.
2. Add the aloe vera gel to the green tea. Mix well until the aloe is fully blended with no lumps. Pour the mixture into a glass jar or spray bottle.

How to use it:
After washing your face and neck, apply the toner by either spritzing it directly onto your skin or using a cotton ball to dab it on. Gently rub it over your skin. Follow up with a natural moisturizer or facial oil. Use daily as needed.
