Crafting Your Own Coffee-Infused Eye Cream to Combat Fine Lines and Dark Circles

I can’t start my day without my cup of coffee. Besides tasting great and giving me a boost, caffeine in coffee is also a fantastic beauty aid!

Why Is Coffee Good For Your Skin?

Coffee is rich in antioxidants like hydrocinnamic acids and polyphenols. Hydrocinnamic acids effectively neutralize free radicals and prevent oxidative stress. While drinking coffee offers these benefits, applying it topically can also enhance your skin. Caffeine helps reduce dark circles and puffiness under the eyes by increasing blood circulation, giving your skin a refreshed look. Instead of washing your face with leftover coffee, let’s make an under-eye cream combining caffeine with other beneficial ingredients.

Ingredients:

– 2 tablespoons coffee oil
– 2 tablespoons virgin coconut oil
– 1 tablespoon organic beeswax
– 2 teaspoons pure jojoba oil
– 100% patchouli essential oil
– Wide-mouthed glass jar
– Small saucepan

The Power of The Ingredients:

Coffee Oil

Coffee oil, packed with antioxidants and caffeine, helps restore, heal, firm, and tighten the skin. Caffeine reduces puffiness and dark circles under the eyes and improves blood circulation for a rejuvenated look.

How To Make Coffee Oil:

To make coffee-infused oil, use the hot infusion method. Combine 4 tablespoons of ground coffee with 8 tablespoons of pure olive oil in a small saucepan. Heat on low for at least 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Alternatively, use a crockpot on low for a few hours. Strain the oil using cheesecloth or a coffee filter. This oil can be used as a light moisturizer.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil prevents dryness and fine lines around the eyes. It contains vitamins and essential fatty acids that promote healthy skin cells, including vitamin E and antioxidants that heal and repair damaged skin. Its lactic acid tightens pores, making the skin smooth and firm, while its anti-inflammatory properties reduce swelling and redness.

Beeswax

Beeswax conditions the skin, creating a barrier that seals in moisture. It contains vitamin A, which promotes cell regeneration and improves hydration. As a humectant, it attracts water, keeping the skin hydrated.

Jojoba Oil

Jojoba oil is rich in nutrients like vitamin E, B complex, zinc, copper, chromium, and selenium. It strengthens the skin’s natural healing process, restores elasticity, and diminishes fine lines.

Patchouli Essential Oil

Patchouli essential oil’s anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties reduce wrinkles and fine lines.

How To Make Coffee Under Eye Cream:

Put the coffee oil in a heatproof jar. Add the coconut oil and beeswax to the coffee oil. Melt the mixture in a pan filled with 2 inches of water. Once melted, remove from heat and add 4-5 drops of patchouli oil. Patchouli regenerates new skin cells, keeping the skin looking young and vibrant. You can substitute lavender essential oil if you prefer. Pour into a wide-mouth container and let it cool and solidify. It’s okay if there are some residual coffee grounds. Gently pat around the eyes before bed or in the morning under makeup to brighten your eyes.
