Getting rid of blackheads can be tough, but using a pore strip can help. Making your own at home is simple, cost-effective, and takes less than five minutes with great results.
Ingredients:
– 1 tablespoon of gelatin
– 1 tablespoon of milk
– 1 sheet of toilet paper
– 2-3 drops of tea tree oil
– Flat makeup brush
– Small microwave-safe bowl
Notes on Ingredients:
I tried using agar powder and almond milk, but the mixture didn’t become as sticky or smooth as the gelatin and milk combination, which is essential for removing blackheads. While you can substitute water for milk, the lactic acid in milk gently exfoliates your skin, enhancing the gelatin’s effectiveness in pulling out debris.
How to Make Your Pore Strips:
1. Combine one tablespoon of unflavored gelatin with one tablespoon of milk in a small bowl.
2. Microwave the mixture on high for 7-10 seconds until it bubbles slightly. Stir until it becomes thick and glue-like.
3. Add 2-3 drops of tea tree oil and mix well.
To Use:
1. Separate a 2-ply sheet of toilet paper into one layer and cut it in half.
2. Wash your face with warm water and mild soap, then towel dry.
3. Using a flat makeup brush, apply a generous layer of the gelatin mixture to your nose or chin.
4. Press the half-sheet of toilet paper onto the area and apply another layer of the mixture on top.
5. Let it dry completely until it hardens.
6. Peel off the paper and use a warm towel to remove any leftover bits.
Now you can enjoy clearer skin without the hassle of store-bought pore strips!
