With the holiday season upon us, it’s time to get into the spirit. Nothing brings a sense of coziness quite like the smells of Christmas: cinnamon, pine, peppermint, orange, and wintergreen. A fun way to infuse these delightful aromas into your home is through easy DIY room sprays.
Avoid the allure of purchasing commercial air fresheners—they often contain harmful chemicals like phthalates, benzene, formaldehyde, propellants, and solvents. These substances can be inhaled and absorbed through the skin, posing health risks. Long-term exposure to these chemicals can damage the lungs, liver, kidneys, and central nervous system. Even though commercial air fresheners usually contain these chemicals in small amounts, low-dose exposure over time can be as harmful as higher doses.
The good news is, with a few essential oils and some safe, easily accessible ingredients, you can create custom festive room sprays in less than five minutes.
